Page finish and a new start

So, last week, this time, I had almost finished page 4 of The Loneliness of Autumn.  Wednesday, I finally managed to fill in the last confetti stitch for another page finish.

Then I pulled SS Daybreak back out and made a little progress before I got bored.

Saturday afternoon, I pulled out a chart for a new start.

I converted the called for DMC to HDF and started stitching on 32ct Belfast in PTP's Icon.  I was not happy with the coverage of 1x2

so frogged it and pulled out a piece of 40ct Kingston in PTP's Valor and made a little progress last night.

At this point, I'm concerned that the black on the cat's cheeks is blending too much with the dark grey of it's face.  The nose is black too but I think that can be fixed by stitching it 2x2 instead of 1x2 so it stands out a little more.

The Loneliness of Autumn

I'm creeping up on another page finish!

I'm hoping to finish this page in the next night or two and be able to check off another goal for this year.  I still have a couple more WIPs sitting on my coffee table waiting for me to choose one to work on.  Will it be Her Private Garden? or SS Daybreak or something totally different for recent stitching and Loara Standish will get some love?  I don't know either!

Thinking out loud

Hi guys!

Since the end of the year is approaching and I haven't managed to make several of my goals this year, I'm starting to think about next year's goals and what I can do different.  I have two HAEDs that are probably my oldest WIPs right now.

There's Earth Song that I started in March 2009

and Lust that was started 10/1/09

I'm debating making Lust my focus piece for 2017 and stitching a page at a time then picking another WIP for a page and coming back to Lust for a page, etc.  I'm hoping I would be able to finish her in the next year or so that way.  I have 12 full pages and 9 partial pages.  Three of the partial pages are the last page of the rows and are only 12 stitches wide and I typically stitch them at the same time as the full page before them.  The other partial pages are the last row which are only 22 stitches long and the last page there is tiny.  It will probably take two more years to finish her even if she is my focus piece, but I would really like to see her done and on my wall.

I also have a small update on The Loneliness of Autumn.  I'm probably only half way done with page 4, but I'm hoping for a very quiet weekend.  Since my DH has a cold and probably won't want to do much, I may be able to finish the page.  Cross your fingers for me!

Feathers in the Wind is still out and I have almost finished page 1!

I'm hoping to get this done tonight so I can get away from the greys and purples for a bit.  I'm planning on pulling out SS Daybreak, Her Private Garden or even Lust to work one annual goal or another.  I have poblano peppers that I need to do something with though.  I made pepper relish with the fooled you jalapeno peppers I picked Tuesday. I may just end up making a spicier version over the next couple of nights.

Monday, Monday

It's another dreary, rainy Monday here.  Hopefully that quits soon since DS#1 has his last football game of the season tonight.  My in-laws have come up for this one and since they're here, my DH is actually going to go.  Gotta act like a parent sometimes!  Since they came up yesterday, a lot of my stitchy time last week and definitely last weekend were sucked up by house projects and cleaning.  Progress on Feathers in the Wind was made though.

Hopefully, I'll be able to pull off another page finish and rotate to something with more color than greys and purple.

It's supposed to freeze this week so we're probably going to have to pick the garden one last time.  I have bell peppers to cut and freeze, fooled you jalapenos to make into something, serranos that I won't touch and a couple others to figure out.  We might just pick them all and spread them out on the kitchen table so I can get an idea of whats there.  I might make cowboy candy out of the jalapenos.  I hear great things about it.  So, maybe.

Page 3 finish and a new start

First,  thank you for your comments.  Alicia, The Crafty Princess, you made my morning.  Thank you!  The Tilton new start SAL was an event with the Facebook group Cross Stitch and Discuss.

During the last week, I made pretty good progress.  I finished page three of The Master.

I debated about sticking with him since there is only about a page and a half left in this row.  In the end, I went ahead with my plans to join the Tilton new start SAL.  I chose Feathers in the Wind

This weekend was busy so I didn't make a lot of progress.  I wasn't really feeling her either.  I may just put her away for now and pull out another WIP so I can work on one of my 2016 goals.  I'll probably be debating that until I get a chance to stitch tonight.  I've got a short to do list when we get home tonight that will probably take a couple of hours so I've got some time to think about it.

Here's my current progress on her.

I've almost made it across page one and am about 20 stitches down the page.
